Interesting facts
- Horní Štěpanice was named after its founder, Knight Štěpán. Discover typical log cabins called “cordwood buildings” (No. 3). They were built of round and half-round logs laid widthwise. The walls of the cabins thus created, in contrast to the striped log cabins, a jagged “mosaic” of wood.
- Štěpanický Castle, founded by Jan von Wallenstein, was the original seat of the Wallenstein family. To this day there are tales of secret passages, buried treasure and castle ghosts, although only the ruins have survived.
